Core ideas
The brain rewires in response to repeated, challenging practice. Myelin sheaths thicken around frequently-fired pathways. This is biology, not motivation. Without feedback, you reinforce whatever you happen to be doing. Without difficulty, there's no adaptation signal.
Practice that feels easy builds nothing. The brain only adapts when challenged at the edge of current ability. Complex skills are built from components — isolate the weak part, drill it, then reintegrate.
The practice loop
1. Assess — identify the specific limiter
2. Design — create a drill that isolates it
3. Execute — run with full focus on the objective
4. Evaluate — check telemetry, be honest about what changed
5. Integrate — test in full-lap context
6. Log — document what worked
